Tim van den Oudenhoven (b. 1983, Belgium) is a Berlin-based artist whose work revolves around themes of vanishing and transience, a contemporary Vanitas reflecting on life, memory, and the limits of photography itself.
Starting from the photographic image, his practice expands into installation, video, and generative processes, always guided by a sense of the uncanny. His cityscapes dissolve individuality into anonymous urban repetition, while other landscapes offer distant glimmers of light within vast darkness. His meta-photographic works draw on surveillance footage and Objet trouvés to confront photography's inability to fully preserve reality, and his more recent generative works interrogate the role of the artist in an age of endlessly produced images.
