The exhibition brings together former Atelier Josepha artists-in-residence Simone Kessler, Isabella Martin, Bärbel Praun and Oksana Yushko, whose collaboration began on the shores of the Baltic Sea in Ahrenshoop.
Following its first presentation in Hamburg, the exhibition has been reimagined for Berlin and 48 Stunden Neukölln on the invitation of Atelier Josepha.
Simone Kessler is a multidisciplinary artist who investigates, through creative processes, philosophical questions that interconnect human systems, ecology and science.
Many of her projects require medium or long-term research phases and interdisciplinary collaborations, in which scientists, fellow artists and curators join her in the task of making visible some of the urgent issues that affect human and more-than-human life in our present time.

Isabella Martin is a visual artist who works with people and places to explore the dialogue between our bodies and the world.
Her interdisciplinary practice utilises embodied and scientific knowledge to challenge perceptions of time and space and offer new perspectives on biology, environment and climate.

Working at the intersection of photography, sculpture and installation, her bodies of work address the relationship between object, material and space, the value of our everyday material world and the visibility of process and time. Themes such as climate change, our consumer behaviour and the exploitation of the Earth strongly influence content and methodology of her practice.

Oksana Yushko is a multidisciplinary artist and curator, currently based in Rendsburg, Germany.
Her research-driven practice spans photography, video, sculpture, and installation, exploring interconnectedness of memory, language and the relationship between nature and culture across Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and the Baltic region. By combining documentary methods with poetic enquiry, she examines the similarities between human and avian communication, from birdsong and migration to climate change and border conflict, offering a fresh perspective on our relationship with territory, history, and each other.
